Trial is underway in Tallahassee for a man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend and her three children... including one of his own.
Prosecutors say Henry Segura was furious because he had been ordered to pay thousands in back child support, but defense lawyer Nate Prince says the state's theory is nonsense.
"Javonte is Mr Segura's son; the two little girls that were killed lived with him; those little girls called him 'dad,'" he said. "Ask yourself whether slaughtering those three children could possibly have anything to do with child support."
Prince says the murders were payback from a drug cartel because the woman who was murdered had been stealing from their shipments.
He even gave the jury the name of the man they believe is one of the real killers.
