14 Royal Caribbean Crew Members Test Positive for Coronavirus

World's Largest Cruise Ship Drops Off Passengers And Crew In Miami

According to the Captain of Royal Caribbean's biggest ship Oasis of the Seas, 14 crew members have tested positive for COVID-19.

Royal Caribbean said “The health and well-being of our crew is our foremost priority. Crew members who exhibited symptoms were evaluated by our medical staff and remain under close supervision. In accordance with our health and safety protocols, our crew have been asked to self-isolate in cabins while we await confirmation of initial results from public health authorities.”

There are about 1,700 employees on Oasis of the Seas. One crew member claimed that before the Captain made an announcement, there were other crew members with flu like symptoms before Royal Caribbean cancelled all sailings.

Oasis of the Seas is currently under Outbreak Prevention Plan Level 3.

The plan is enacted to prevent and respond to any illness outbreaks aboard ships, according to the Royal Caribbean website.

All crew members are quarantined to their rooms, while Royal Caribbean works on getting crew members into guest rooms.

Oasis of the Seas is set to return to Miami on March 31st, but it is unsure if they will be able to stick to this schedule.
