The Legislative Budget Commission in Tallahassee has approved more than $13 million dollars in extra funding for the state's medical marijuana office.
Michele Tallent, at the Department of Health, says they were shortchanged in the new budget and can't pay all their bills without that bump.
"The budget authority is needed for the identification card production, the call center, the application review, the seek-to-sell contract, registry, upgrades and maintenance, and litigation fees," she said.
It's been almost two years since Floridians voted to legalize medical marijuana and state lawmakers say they're fed up with all the delays.
71 percent of Florida voters approved the medical marijuana amendment in 2016 but the program has been plagued by a series of delays... including 11 lawsuits that are still active.
