Officials in central Florida say a funeral mass will be held this weekend for the four children who were killed in a standoff in Orlando last week.
The funeral mass will reportedly take place at St. James Catholic Cathedral Church on Orange Avenue in Orlando.
The mass is set for Saturday at noon, and will be open to the public.
Those involved say the mass will honor the lives of the four children who were reportedly killed in their sleep in the early part of a standoff between Orlando police and a gunman who barricaded himself in an apartment.
The standoff ended when police breached the apartment and discovered the bodies of the children, as well as the body of the gunman.
The man had reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police say that they were initially called to the apartment in response to a domestic call.
During the initial response, the gunman fired on an Orlando police officer, who was severely wounded and remains hospitalized.
