President Trump To Declare ‘New American Moment’ In State Of The Union

President Trump will seek unity and offer an "open hand" to both parties in his first State of the Union address on Tuesday night. In his speech, the president will call on Republicans and Democrats to "protect our citizens, of every background, color, and creed," according to excerpts released by the White House ahead of his address to the joint session of Congress.

The president will say that his administration's first-year accomplishments, including tax cuts and deregulation, have helped spur the economy and as a result "there has never been a better time to start living the American dream."

This is our New American Moment. There has never been a better time to start living the American dream.

Continuing on the theme of unity, Trump will also ask members of both parties to work together on a massive infrastructure bill.

I am asking members of both parties to come together to give us the safe, fast, reliable and modern infrastructure our economy needs.

He will tout his accomplishments in fighting ISIS, and promised he "will not repeat the same mistakes of the past Administraions that got us into this dangerous position."
