Police: Two DeLand Students Arrested in Hoax

Police in Volusia County say two students at DeLand Middle School are in hot water after an episode Monday.

According to law enforcement authorities for the city, the students were arrested after they allegedly called 911 Monday, claiming to have a bomb and reportedly saying they were going to shoot up the school.

Officials say the school was placed on precautionary lock down while the threat was investigated.

Authorities say the suspects, both juveniles, were found at the school and were subsequently arrested.

According to police reports, the suspects face charges including making a false report concerning a bomb or explosive.
