State lawmakers are in Tallahassee this week for a series of committee meetings and fracking will get lots of attention.
Michelle Allen with Food and Water Watch is part of a coalition trying to ban hydraulic fracturing in Florida.
"We have a really great opportunity in this upcoming legislative session, which is just around the corner to pass the bill to ban fracking, to protect our clean water and communities that we love so much," she said.
Supporters of the fracking ban have spent the last three legislative sessions playing defense... working against pro-fracking bills.
This time, they want take the offensive by convincing the legislature to impose a statewide ban.
