Death Toll Rises As Police Continue To Work Crime Scenes In Las Vegas

Another person has passed away, bringing the total number of deaths in the largest shooting in United States history to 59. The number of injured has risen to 527. Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said police continue to work multiple crime scenes. Police are working through the 32nd floor suite in the Mandalay Bay that Stephen Paddock used to open fire on concert-goers, the MGM Resorts Village and his home in Mesquite, Nevada. Lombardo also said a SWAT team is preparing to enter another house owned by the gunman in northern Nevada.

Police found 18 additional guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition and explosives at his home in Mesquite. ATF agents are interviewing employees of the gun shops who sold Paddock the weapons.

Chief Greg Cassell with the Clark County Fire Department said he's never seen as many ambulances dispatched to one scene as he saw last night.  Cassell added that some of the injuries came from trampling, as well as from people trying to jump a fence trying to escape the scene.

Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak said the entire Las Vegas community is coming together.  He said so many people are rolling up their sleeves to donate blood, there's now a six to eight hour wait for blood donations.  He emphasized that Las Vegas is a safe place to be.
