More Ethics Training for Florida Senators

In the aftermath of a scandal in the state Legislature, members of the Florida Senate will be required to take an hour-long course in workplace and sexual harassment.

The mandatory training is part of a new ethics rule drafted by Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto of Fort Myers.

"And it simply says that prior to the opening day of every regular session, all senators shall complete a course of at least one hour in length which addresses workplace harassment, sexual harassment, sensitivity and the proper handling of such issues in the workplace," she said.

The rule will become official once it's approved by the full Senate and lawmakers will be able to take that training online.
